Max Silver Becomes First Irish Poker Player to Surpass $5 Million in Live Tournament Earnings

Monday, 16 May 2022 by SnapShove Team

The Triton Poker Series made its way to Gran Via, Madrid, from May 13-25 with a 14-event schedule. During Event #3: €20,000 No-Limit Short Deck Hold’em Ante Only, SnapShove Founder Max Silver finished in fourth-place for €131,500 (~$136,876), and in doing so, surpassed $5,000,000 in live tournament earnings for his career.

The 62-entrant field paid the final eight players as Tom Dwan, Mike Watson, Rob Yong, Chris Brewer, Chin Wei Lim, Devan Tang, Winfred Yu, were all competing to win the Triton Poker Series trophy and €372,000 first-place prize once they reached the money.

Silver had began the day as the shortest stack, but managed to navigate his way into the money, and then to a seat at the final table. Down to just the final four players, Silver was all-in with queen-jack against the king-queen of Watson. The board brought no help for Silver, and he was eliminated in fourth place for €131,500 (~$136,876).

The result marks the 11th-largest cash of Silver’s career. With nearly $137,000 in prize money awarded for his fourth-place finish, he surpasses the $5,000,000 mark in career live tournament earnings – becoming the first Irish player to reach the milestone. In doing so, Silver moves past Andy Black atop Ireland’s All-Time Money List, where Black previously led with just over $4,890,000 in career earnings.

It is another landmark moment for SnapShove Founder Max Silver, whose latest achievement further cements his place in Irish poker history.
